Boyd ~ Clay McConnell, 52, a carpenter, went to be with our Lord Sunday, February 10, 2013 in Decatur.
Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 14, 2013 at Christian-Hawkins Funeral Chapel with burial in Boyd Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Rev. Terry Phillips will officiate.
Pallbearers include Mike McConnell, Joey McConnell, Jordon McConnell, Ryder McConnell, Michael King, Kyle Worley, Johnathan Worley, and Allen Stevenson. Honorary pallbearer is Blake Howard.
Clay was born on June 24, 1960 to Walter and Nancy (Stout) McConnell in Fort Worth. He married Shirley Hufhines on November 18, 1983 in Decatur.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Teddy McConnell.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 29 years, Shirley McConnell of Boyd; his sons, Justin McConnell and wife Casey of Aubrey and Jake McConnell of Cottondale; his daughter, Amy McConnell of San Marcus; his grandchildren, Ashley, Madison, Wyatt and Abby; his parents, Walter and Nancy McConnell of Paradise; his sister, Peggy Jill Saulter and husband Wade of Rotonda West, Florida; his brother, Leslie McConnell of Paradise; other family members and a host of friends.

We are saddened at the death of Clay.
He was a good worker and always treated us with respect during our massive re-model in l985.
