Clayton Hammack Woodruff, 67, of Decatur passed away suddenly on Friday, September 6, 2024.
A graveside service will be held at a later date to be announced.
Clayton was born February 1, 1957 to Jack Lynn and Natalie (Hammack) Woodruff in Wichita Falls, Texas. During his high school years he moved with his parents from Houston to Granbury where his father worked on the Comanche Peak Nuclear Power Plant. Clayton graduated from Granbury High School in 1976 and later settled in Decatur. He worked as a recycler and enjoyed repairing appliances and bringing new life to them.
Clayton was a drummer for many years. He enjoyed learning about and sharing family history. He was a good story teller with a hearty laugh. Clayton helped care for his Paternal Grandmother during her last decade of life, visiting her nearly every day. He always enjoyed playing a game of dominoes.
The family wishes to thank Heritage Place of Decatur as the staff provided care and compassion for him over the last few years.
Clayton was a beloved brother, uncle, cousin and friend to many and will be dearly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Natalie Woodruff. He is survived by his sister, Leah Woodruff Hatfield of Dallas, Texas, nephew Bryan Hatfield, his wife Trish and son Logan of Arlington, Texas; and numerous cousins and extended family and friends.
