Clifford Stanford

Funeral is 2 p.m. Friday, January 11, 2013 at Christian-Hawkins Funeral Chapel in Boyd with burial in Dido Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Rev. Gerre Joiner will officiate. Pallbearers include Gary Lynn Stanford, Kirk Stanford, Kevin Stanford, Brandon Stevenson, Tim Schmerbach and James McPeek.

Clifford was born on February 8, 1925 to George and Bessie (Patterson) Stanford in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. He was united in marriage to Patsy Calhoun on March 20, 1970 in Fort Worth, Texas. Clifford was a husband and father that loved his family and instilled good old fashioned values. He loved to hunt, fish, be outdoors, listen to bluegrass and gospel music and a good ole chicken fried steak.

Clifford was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Patsy; his brothers, Lloyd and Joe Stanford; and his sisters, Vonn Giddins and Nell Hillburn.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his daughter, Wendy Schmerbach and husband Tim of Fort Worth; his sons, Kirk Stanford and wife Margaret of Saginaw and Gary Lynn Stanford and wife Becky of Fort Worth; 7 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; his sisters, Betty Sommers, Ruth Jones and Vera Alpin; his brothers, Roy and Harold Stanford; numerous nieces and nephews; other family members and a host of friends.
