Clint was born November 11, 1919 in Wise County to James Loyd and Tony Mae Wiley. As a young child, he moved to Hockley County and worked on the family cotton farm. Following graduation from Sundown High School, he moved to California and worked for Lockheed Corporation. He served in Italy with the U.S. Army during World War II, and continued service with the Texas National Guard, retiring after 30 years as a Federal civil servant.

Clint served his community as a member of Decatur Volunteer Fire Department, Lions Club, and National Guard Association. He was a long time member of United Methodist Church in Decatur and faithfully served many years as usher.

Clint was a quiet, modest man who had many fishing and coffee-drinking buddies. During his 31 years of retirement he enjoyed twice-yearly trips to the Texas coast and spending time with friends. His family is his greatest legacy and he loved them dearly. "Grandad" was a favorite playmate of his grandchildren, always coming up with silly ways to make them laugh; he became affectionately known as "Bug" to his grandchildren.

Left behind to cherish his memory is his wife of 61 years, Norma Wiley of Decatur; two sons, Mark Wiley and wife, Cathy of Aledo, Bart Wiley of Decatur; daughter, Cheryl Lindsey and husband, Gary of Dallas; seven grandchildren and two great grandsons; brothers, Troyce Wiley and wife, Joanne of California, James Wiley and wife, Sally of Dallas; and sister, Marvine Atkinson of Lubbock.

Family requests memorials be made to Wise Area Relief Mission, 300 North Trinity, Decatur, Texas 76234 or the First United Methodist Church, 104 South Miller, Decatur, Texas 76234.
