Funeral is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 18, at the First Baptist Church of Decatur with burial in Oaklawn Cemetery. Reverend Ken May to officiate. Family will receive friends 6 - 8 p.m. Tuesday at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home.
Pallbearers: Dane Pearson, Shea Pearson, Andrew Gage, Eric Gage, Brent Gage, and Dan Pearson.
Honorary Pallbearers: Kenneth McKay, Ernie Roberts, A.C. Griffin, Stephen Wren, and Jim Keen.
Clyde was born October 19, 1921 in Clovis, New Mexico to John and Eunice Strube Wright. He joined the United States Army in 1942 and served during World War II until 1946. Shortly thereafter he received a Masters degree in Pharmaceuticals from the University of Texas in Austin. Clyde was a member of the First Baptist Church in Decatur and attended the Adult 7 Sunday School class. He was also a member of the Gideons, Kiwanis, and Wise County Veteran Coffee Group.
Left behind to cherish is memory are his daughters, Sheri Pearson and husband Dan of Austin, and Clyde'ette Gage and husband Brent of Decatur; 5 grandchildren, Dane and Shea Pearson, Andrew, Eric, and Addison Gage; mother of his children, Doris Wright Bryant of Paris; numerous nieces, nephew, and a host of friends.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Hortense Wright; parents; and sister, Muriel Hinson.
