Curtis "Mike" Moss

Chico~ Curtis “Mike” Moss, 77, went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, April 25th, 2023 in Decatur, Texas.

Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 28th, 2023 at First Baptist Church in Chico with burial to follow in Chico Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport.

Pastors Ronnie Lawson and Melvin Clay will officiate. Pallbearers will include, Casey Richardson, Brandon Richardson, Scottie Sugg, Frank Sugg, Derek Sugg, Blake Moss, Trent Teague, and Rusty Bridges. Honorary Pallbearers are Larry Mader, Johnny Lowrance, Butch Laxson, Randee Bucheanu, Jason Earp, Harvey Swaim, Jerry Stanfield, Larry Cox and Audie Morris.

Mike was born on November 23, 1945 to Howard and Charlene (Parmer) Moss in Decatur, Texas. He was united in marriage to Raye Nell Sugg on January 7th, 1967 in Springtown. Mike was retired from the former Mitchell Energy and most recently Devon Energy, after many years as a Pipeline Superintendent. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, who will be missed dearly by all that knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Charlene Moss.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 56 years, Raye Nell Moss of Chico; his daughter, Teresa Mader and husband Larry, Jr. of Sunset; his son, Craig Moss and wife Leanna of Chico; his 4 grandchildren, Malori Moss; Macie Lowe and husband, Kevin; Mikena Smith and husband Jesse; and Maley Mader; his 1 great-grandchild, Kennedi Lowe; his brother, Randy Moss; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
