Azle ~ Cynthia Hitchcock Denton, 58, a homemaker, went to be with our Lord on Monday, April 25, 2011 in Azle after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Funeral is 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 29th at the Cross Roads Baptist Church in Azle. Family will receive friends 6-6 p.m. on Thursday at Christian-Hawkins Funeral Home in Boyd.
The Reverend John Baker will officiate. Pallbearers are Clint York, Dee Mathes, Glenn Elliott, Ray Alford, Billy Edwards, and Justin Phillips.
Cynthia was born on December 1, 1952 to Ralph and Neoma Vernell (Willson) Hitchcock in Fort Worth. After graduating from Azle High School, she married Jimmy Denton on February 26, 1971 in Azle. They celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary. Cynthia was a member of the Cross Roads Baptist Church and a singer in the choir. She was a former employee of CVS drug store in Azle.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of 40 years, Jimmy Denton of Azle; her son, Jamie Denton and wife Norma of Boyd; her daughter, Shannon Coomer and husband Jason of Smithville, North Carolina; her grandchildren, Haydn, Emerson, and Deklan Coomer and Terry Daniel Curtis; her parents, Ralph and Vernell Hitchcock of Boyd; her sister, Cheryl York and husband Mark of Fort Worth; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
