Decatur: Dan Nason, 71, went to be with our Lord on Monday, September 22, 2008 in Decatur.
Funeral service is 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 26th at the Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Ken May and Bill West officiating. Interment will be in Oaklawn Cemetery following the service. Family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Dane Mathes, Roger Blackmon, Bill West, Travis Lind, Joe Scruggs and Tom Rawle.
Dan was born on June 10, 1937 in South Portland, Maine to Clyde and Beatrice Higgins Nason. He married Barbara Jane Scruggs on February 14, 1975 in Wichita Falls, Texas. Dan served in the United States Army and retired from the United States Air Force as Master Sergeant in 1982. He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Diana Lynn Nason and son, George John Nason.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 33 years, Barbara Nason of Decatur; daughters, Deantha Warner and husband, Buddy of Bridgeton, Maine, Lisa Amey of Burkburnett, Janie Mathes and husband, Dane of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, Joey Nason of Decatur; son, Dana H. Nason, Jr. of Main; brother, Clyde E. Nason of Maine; and 9 grandchildren.
