Darlene Marie (Stalcup) Benedick

Decatur ~ Darlene Marie Benedick, 87, of Decatur went to be with our Lord Thursday, May 26,2022.

Funeral is 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at Victory Family Church in Decatur. Family will receive friends 1-3 p.m. Saturday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.

Allen Bates will officiate. Pallbearers will be her Grandsons.

Darlene was born August 29, 1934 to William Jenning Bryan and Sadie Elizabeth (Kaufman) Stalcup in Hoisington, Kansas. She was united in marriage December 27, 1953 to George Benedick in Hoisington, Kansas. Darlene was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many who will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Sadie Stalcup; several brothers, and sisters.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of 68 years, George Benedick of Decatur; her sons, George Benedick, Jr. and Kayla of Great Bend, Kansas, and Bill Benedick and Susie of Rhome; her daughters, Rebecca Vega and husband Richard of Decatur, and Bridget Stutt and husband Chris of Bridgeport; 22 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; her sister, Janis Peterson of Great Bend, Kansas; numerous extended family members and a host of friends.

Memorials in Darlene’s name can be made to Victory Christian Academy.
