Darrell was born on March 23, 1952, the son of Tom William and Wilma Leone (Brooks) Hale in Borger. He married Joan Sander on September 7, 1974 in Garden City, Kansas. He was a truck driver for Shale Tank Truck in Jacksboro and a former chief of the Runaway Bay Volunteer Fire Department. During his live he worked many years in Corrections in Kansas and Texas. He also served as a Police Officer in Newton, Kansas. His passions included hunting, fishing and "driving a big rig".
Darrell was preceded in death by his mother, Wilma Brooks Hale; his grandparents, Herbert and Marcille Hale, Marvin and Juanita Brooks.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are: wife of 35 years, Joan Hale of Runaway Bay; sons, Shane Hale of Rosharon, Texas, Shaun Hale and wife Dawn of Springtown; grandchildren, Joshua and Christopher Hale, Misten Kittrell, Felicity, Cheyanne and Autum Hale, Devon Miller, Hunter and Conner Hale; father, Tom Hale and Shirley of Carlsbad, New Mexico; sisters, Toni and Michelle Hale; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and a host of friends.
