Darrell Wells

Midland~ Darrell Wells, 75, went to be with our Lord on Monday, June 13, 2022 in Chico, Texas.

Darrell was born on October 9, 1946 to Delbert and Loreta Wells. Darrell started working as a young boy delivering a newspaper route, and later helped with his dad doing body work on cars and learned many hands-on activities. He grew up and lived most of his life in a place he loved, Midland, Texas where he leaves many family members and good friends behind. Darrell graduated from Texas Tech in 1968 with an engineering degree. Early in his career he was a manager for Montgomery Ward and he always related with his daughter’s retail career. He worked most of his life as a self-employed general contractor. Darrell knew many trades and was an excellent finish carpenter.  He cherished his time working, building relationships and had excellence in his finished projects. Darrell also had a love of flying. At a time when he had his own plane and pilots license, he grew many friendships at Midland Air Terminal and had some exciting flights and adventures he loved to recount. He always wanted to go fishing and enjoyed his time at LBJ or any other lake he could spend the day. He also very much loved his friends and cutting up and having a good time. He was funny and fun.  He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend who will be missed by all that knew and loved him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Delbert and Loreta Wells; his brothers, Roger Wells, Ronnie Wells; his sisters, Delores Wells and Marquita Wells.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his daughter, Kenda Wells of Chico, Texas his grandson, Nicholas Wells of Arlington, Texas; his brother, Kevin Wells and wife Debby of Cypress, Texas; his sister, Annette Williams and husband, Walt of Rockwall, Texas; his niece and nephews and numerous extended family members and a host of best friends.

Memorial Service will be held Sunday, August 14th, 2022 at Kessler’s Hall 3204 W Wall St, Midland, TX 79701, Service will begin at 2:00 p.m.
