Newark ~ David Earl Crownover, 72, a farmer and retired machinist, went to be with our Lord Sunday, October 30, 2016 in Newark.
Graveside service is 10:30 a.m. Thursday, November 3, 2016 at Aurora Cemetery. Family will receive friends 4-6 p.m. Wednesday at Christian-Hawkins Funeral Home.
Chaplain Phillip Weitner will officiate. Pallbearers include Shawn Phares, Kirk Stanford, Scott Davis, Lance Sanders, Greg Spurgeon, and Kevin York. Honorary pallbearers are Carter James, Herman Andrew 'Drew' Chaisson III, Red Harelson, and Herman A. Chaisson Jr.
David was born May 20, 1944 to Arriel and Veda (Taylor) Crownover in Fort Worth, Texas. He was united in marriage to Sarah June Johnston on January 9, 1965 in Newark. David was a peanut, cantaloupe, and watermelon farmer; he retired from Lenox after 20 years of service as a machinist; and he also worked as a machinist at the Bureau of Engraving and Printing.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Junie; parents, A. B. and Veda Bell Crownover; a granddaughter, Merrissa Crownover; brother-in-law, Jerry Houser; and father-in-law, Everett Eugene Johnston.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his daughter, Cylinda Chaisson and husband Herman A. Jr. of Newark; his son, Michael David Crownover and wife Christie Lynn of Dayton, Texas; his grandchildren, Herman Andrew "Drew" Chaisson III of Newark, June Christie Crownover of Dayton, and Nikita Michaela Crownover of Dayton; his great-grandchild, Carter James of Newark; his sister, Jan Crownover Allen of Saginaw; his mother-in-law, Katherine Gargis Johnston of Newark; his uncle, Jim Taylor of Joshua; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
