David Van Hatley

David Van Hatley, 83, went to be with our lord on Sunday February 4, 2024 in Bridgeport. A memorial service is planned for Saturday, February 17th, 2024 at 11:00am at First United Methodist Church in Boyd.

David was born April 27, 1940 to James Lonzo Hatley and Elinor Alice (Vanlandingham) Hatley in Decatur. A proud graduate of University of North Texas , David was honored to serve in the army during the Korean War. He spent the majority of his career as a pharmaceutical rep for Burroughs Welcome and also worked for Woodcraft woodworking store. He married Opal Estes on February 12,1991 in Dallas Tx.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife Opal, his daughters April Ertekin and Alicia Alexander (from his previous wife), daughter Letty Hatley, stepdaughters Jeanne Killgo and Renee Allen. Additionally he is survived by son in laws Sadi Ertekin, Jeremy Alexander and Greg Killgo as well as grandsons Dayton Tarantino, Noah Alexander and John Ertekin, numerous nephews, nieces, great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
