David Joe "Pappy" Miles

Rhome ~ Joe "Pappy" Miles, 58, a driller and owner, went to be with our Lord Saturday, May 27, 2017 in Runaway Bay.

Funeral is 11 a.m. Thursday, June 1, 2017 at Rhome Assembly of God Church with burial in Chico Cemetery.  Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Boyd.

Rev. Richard Cleghorn and Rev. Jeremy Howard will officiate.  Pallbearers include Bryan Miles, Chris Miles, Robby Miller, Austin Butler, Phillip Miles, and Lee Largent.  Honorary pallbearers include Randy Lee, Chris Word, Gary Hughes, and Keith Schwiegr.

Joe was born on November 22, 1958 to William and Bernice (Simpson) Miles in Bridgeport.  He was an owner and driller for Action Water Wells for 44 years.  Joe was a great father, brother, uncle, and friend.  His greatest joy was spending time with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, David Wade Miles; and his brothers, Clarence, Phillip, and Timothy Miles.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his daughter, Jimella Yvonne Miles of Dallas; his granddaughters, Nadia and Aleighsia Damron; his brothers, Bill Miles and wife Judy of Bridgeport, and Robert Miles and wife Vicki of Rhome; his sisters, Beki Young and husband Richard of Rhome, Sonja Butler and husband Rip of Rhome, and Anna Ham and husband Mark of Boyd; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
