Decatur ~ David Lee Mills, 69, went to be with our Lord Sunday, June 23, 2019, in Denton.
Memorial service is 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 29, 2019, at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Decatur.
Pastor Bubba Mills will officiate.
David was born on May 20, 1950, to William and Rosie (Gentry) Mills in Fort Worth, Texas. He was united in marriage to Sharon Corder on July 10, 1966 in Glen Rose. David proudly served our country in the United States Marines and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He retired as a Mechanic from Mead West Vaco. David was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Danny Mills; his son, David Lee Mills, Jr.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 52 years, Sharon Mills of Decatur; his daughter, Tonya Gatlin and husband James of Decatur; his granddaughters, Candice Patton and spouse Courtney of Decatur, and Crissie Hale and husband Nick of Decatur; his great-grandchildren, Addison Dyer, Adalyn Gatlin, and Chaysen Hale; his sister, Paula Wilson and husband Ronald of Decatur; his brother, Bubba Mills and wife Cheryl of Lillian; his sister in law, Joann Springer and husband David; close family friend, Darlene Hamm; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
