Funeral is 3:00 p.m. Thursday, August 24, 2017 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Boyd with burial 10:15 a.m. Friday, August 25, 2017 at DFW National Cemetery.
Rev. Eric Crawford will officiate.
David was born April 27, 1968 to Allan and Susan (Greenwalt) Oakes in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania. He was united in marriage to Kelly Gann on July 30, 1988 in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 29 years, Kelly Oakes; his daughter, Alexzandra Isabelle Oakes; his son, William Wyatt Oakes; his daughter, Sophie Grace Oakes; his parents, Allan and Susan Oakes of Pennsylvania; his sister, Heidi Heiston of Pennsylvania; his brother, Shawn Michael Oakes of Pennsylvania; several nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and a host of friends.
