Bridgeport ~ Davis Stanford Dennis, Jr., 62, a retired maintenance worker, went to be with our Lord Thursday, August 4, 2011 in Saint Jo.
Graveside service is 10 a.m. Tuesday at Mountain Park Cemetery in Saint Jo. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday at Hawkins Funeral Home.
Rev. Larry Cox will officiate. Pallbearers are Clinton Lee Dennis, Rodney Hall, Marvin Brimer, Jack Andrew, and David Andrew. Honorary pallbearers are Douglas Zarantonello, Dewayne Zarantonello, Christian Everton, Tim Dennis, Todd Dennis, Matthew Dennis, Colton Harris, Corbin Harris, and Logan Harris.
Davis was born on December 23, 1948 to Davis and Marie (Frushour) Dennis in Port Clinton, Ohio. He married Shirley Ann Harris on June 13, 1998 in Bridgeport. Davis was retired from Correctional Corp. of America.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Tony Paul Dennis in October 2010; and his granddaughter, Taylor Lee Dennis.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Shirley Dennis of Bridgeport; his sisters, Sandy Brimer and Linda Miller both of Saint Jo; his brother, Elvin Dennis of Krum; his daughter, Rachel Zarantonello; 14 grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
