Deana was born on March 21, 1949 in Decatur, Texas to Robert and Dorothy Mae (Miller) Pitts, Sr. She is preceded in death by her mother, and brother, William Samuel Pitts.

Left behind to cherish her memory are: father, Robert Pitts, Sr. of Decatur; two brothers, Leroy Pitts and wife, Sue of Middlesboro, Kentucky, Robert Pitts of Aurora; two sisters, Pamela Joy Rhodes of Fort Worth, Brenda Taylor and husband, Terry of Fort Worth; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
