College Station: Debbie Barton, 54, formerly of Decatur, went to be with our Lord, Sunday, April 10, 2011 in Austin, Texas.
Funeral service is 11 a.m. Thursday, April 14th at First Baptist Church of Decatur with Reverend Ken May officiating. Interment: Oaklawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home.
Pallbearers include Shawn Belknap, Zachary Belknap, Isaiah Belknap, Travis Davidson, Louis Tamez, and LRay Barton.
Debbie was born May 14, 1956 in Fort Worth, Texas. Debbie loved animals. As a young woman, she loved riding horses and competed in barrel racing. She also established a dog kennel business breeding a variety of registered dogs. Debbie later sold all her horses and dogs to then fill her life worshiping and serving the Lord.
Left behind to cherish her memory are mother, Kathleen Ashley of Decatur; father, Lonnie Barton of Arizona; son, Travis Davidson and wife, Patty of Fort Worth, Shawn Belknap and wife, Maria of Livingston; 7 grandchildren; sister, Cheryl Tamez and husband, Louis of College Station; and a host of friends.
She is preceded in death by father, Robert "Bob" Ashley and grandmother, Lois Rowland.
