Deborah Lynn (Smith) Sanford

Decatur ~ Deborah Lynn Sanford, 66, went to be with our Lord Monday, March 28, 2022.

Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 1, 2022 at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur. Family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service.

Deborah was born February 28, 1956 to Charles L. and Peggy Lou (Hardin) Smith in Marietta, Georgia. She was united in marriage August 17, 1984 to Michael L. Sanford in Decatur, Texas. Deborah was a caregiver for many years, and was a member of Sycamore Baptist Church. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many who will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Peggy Smith; her brother, Robert Smith; and her sister, Charlene Archa.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of 37 years, Mike Sanford of Decatur; her daughters, Christy Chapman and husband Glenn of The Colony, and Jennifer Johnson of Haslet; her son, Toby Sanford and wife Bonnie of Bedford; her step-son, Kevin Sanford and wife Lindsey of Krum; 10 grandchildren, Zach, Reagan, Jaiden, Trevor, Kaitlynn, Logan, Gage, Marin, Aislyn, and Gunner; 2 great- grandchildren, Willow and Kobe; her brothers, Enoch Teague of Springtown, and Richard Poulter of Golden Valley, Arizona; her 2 sisters, Betty Taylor of Decatur, and Nora Montgomery; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
