Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 10th at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Bridgeport with burial in West Bridgeport Cemetery. Family will receive friends 4-6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Rev. Glenn Kersey will officiate. Pallbearers include John Kaker, Carl Kaker, J.C. Ferris, Josh Wheeler, Bill Kersey, and Russell Kersey.
Della was born on July 27, 1928 to Wesley and Alice Josephine (Mosley) Kersey in Bridgeport. She was united in marriage to James Ferris Sr., former Tarrant County Constable Pct. 3. Della was retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. where she worked as an operator and administrator. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Euless, Eastern Star, Red Hat Society and a lifetime member of The American Legion Auxiliary and the Fort Worth Telephone Pioneers.
Della was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Ferris Sr.; and her brother, Clinton Kersey.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her sons, James L. Ferris Jr. of North Richland Hills, Wes Ferris of Euless; her grandchildren, Kristi, Shaina, Jessica, J.C., and Jenna; her great grandchildren, Jackson and Mackenzie; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
