Della Margaret Gatlin was born August 5, 1922 in Poteau, Oklahoma and passed away on January 24, 2022 in Terrell Texas at the age of 99 years old. Her given name was Della Margaret but she chose to go as “Margaret.
At a young age Margaret, her mother and sisters moved to Paducah, Texas where she met and married R. W. (Weston) Culpepper in October of 1937. When WWII started her husband went into the Army and was stationed at Ft. Hood near Temple, Texas where their only son Ron was born. Shortly after the end of the war, they moved to California and lived in several cities where they Pastored and traveled as evangelists until they moved back to Texas in 1960.
Margaret truly was a Pastor and Minister's wife. Together, they traveled many countries preaching the good news of Jesus Christ. Her kindness to everyone was shown throughout her Christian walk with her Lord and Savior who she served all of her life.
Margaret worked until she was 80 years old. She retired from the banking and mortgage industry and worked part-time over 20 years for what is now known as Macy’s.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son Ronald, grandson Scott, granddaughter and husband Lacie and Jeff Gibralter, her great-granddaughters Kathryn and Sara Gibralter, daughter-in-law Danna Culpepper and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be Saturday, January 29 at 2pm at East Bridgeport Cemetery, 400 17th Street Bridgeport, Texas 76426
