Deloris Faye Howard Sanders

Chico ~ Deloris Faye (Howard) Sanders, 81, went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 in Decatur.

Funeral is 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Chico Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Rev. Eddie Worthy will officiate. Pallbearers include Dustin Sanders, Marshall Sanders, Clint Bitner, Shelby Beckworth, Joshua Beckworth, Jeremy Bitner, Dylan Sanders and Jose Llanas.

Deloris was born on May 21, 1940 to Willis Leslie and Ethel (Settle) Howard in Muskogee, Oklahoma. She was united in marriage to T.D. “Slim” Sanders on August 26, 1955 in Spur, Texas and spent 59 wonderful years together until his passing in July of 2014. Deloris was a homemaker who took great pride in taking care of her family and her home and especially being a “Gran”, and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren whenever she would get a chance.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Slim Sanders; her son, Michael Todd Sanders; her great-grandson, Kain Payson; her son-in-law, Ronnie Dunn; and her brother, James Howard.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her sons, Darrell Sanders and wife Frances of Chico, Danny Sanders and wife Nancy of Alvord; her daughter, Tammy Dunn of Jacksboro; her grandchildren, Jill Payson and husband Chris, Aubrey Blake and husband David, Dustin Sanders and wife Ashley, Marshall Sanders, Clint Bitner and wife Jamie, Erin Ooten and husband Ryan, Jeremy Bitner and wife Nicki, Hayley Roberts, Danielle Lavender and husband Matt, Joshua Beckworth, Shelby Beckworth and wife Jacqueyln, Myah Llanas and husband Jose, and Dylan Sanders; her 25 great-grandchildren; her sisters, Ruby Thornton of Chickasha, Oklahoma, Peggy Seidel of El Reno, Oklahoma, and Margie Fillip of Saginaw; numerous extended family members and a host of friends.
