Newark ~ Dennis James McQueen, 66, went to be with our Lord Saturday, March 19, 2022.

Memorial is 3:00 pm. Sunday, March 27, 2022 at Denton County Cowboy Church in Denton.

Dennis was born September 30, 1955 to Marvin Winford and Joyce Madean (Curbo) McQueen in Littlefield, Texas. He was united in marriage September 29, 1989 to Teresa Lynette Adams in Saginaw, Texas. Dennis was retired from the Fort Worth Police Dept. where he was a trainer for the mounted patrol unit for 23 years. He was everyone’s friend, never meeting a stranger. Dennis was a teamroper and competed locally. He grew up on the northside of Ft. Worth where he worked the stockyards working cattle and raised and trained his own horses. Dennis helped the arena ministry in Denton County Cowboy Church in Ponder helping kids learn to rope and ride. He also helped several kids compete in the North Texas High School Rodeo Association. Dennis’s greatest joy was his family, his favorite hangout was the Whataburger in Haslet where he would meet daily in the morning or the roping arena and he was sure to tell you a story or two. Dennis was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend to many who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Joyce Stevens, his step-father, Jr. Stevens, niece Sandy Wright.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 33 years, Teresa McQueen; his son, Garrett McQueen; granddaughter, McKinley McQueen; his sisters, Linda Fincher, and Sandra Godbey and brother-in-law, Gabe; his sister-in-law, Tammy Williams; his brother-in-law, Joey Williams; nieces and nephews, Tammy Fraga and spouse Johnny, Theresa Wilson and spouse Ronnie, Dustin Humphrey and spouse Haley, Kelsey Fincher; multiple great nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
