Dennis Meek

Decatur ~ Dennis Meek, 76, went to be with our Lord Sunday, February 11th, 2024.

Graveside Service is 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 16th, 2024 at Oaklawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends 7-9:00 p.m. Thursday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.

Memorial 5:00 p.m. Sunday at Decatur Golf Club.

Pastor Benjamin McAnally will officiate.

Dennis was born October 14th, 1947 to Weldon and Delores Glynn (Dunn) Meek in Bells, Texas. He was united in marriage February 16th, 1972 to Dianna Jean Lowrinore in Bells, Texas. Dennis graduated Bells High School and attended college for a bit, working for Oncor for years before retirement. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist and Decatur Golf Club. Dennis was a beloved father, grandfather, and friend to many who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Weldon and Delores Meek; his wife, Jean Meek; and a daughter, Brenda Kaye Summers.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his daughter, Dianna Wilhelm and husband Mike of Decatur; son, Grant Summers and wife Tiffany of Decatur; his granddaughters, Bonnie Sessums and husband Edward of Oklahoma, Lee Meek of Decatur, and Carie Meek of Decatur; his brothers, Michael Meek and wife Carol of Howe, and Stephen Meek and wife Mandy of Bells; his sisters, Melva Langford and husband Harold of Whitewright, and Maudianne Ramsey and husband Mike of Bells; extended family members, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
