Dessie Demases

Boyd ~ Dessie Demases, 83, went to be with our Lord Sunday, October 11, 2020 in Decatur.

Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Boyd Church of Christ with burial in Boyd Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Boyd.

Bro. Steve Weeks will officiate. Pallbearers include Bud Smith, Jason Hammond, Parker Slaten, Corbin Oates, Jim Smith, and James Demases.

Dessie was born October 28, 1936 to Jim and Helen (Cox) Vardas in Aubrey. She was united in marriage to Johnny Demases on August 25, 1955 in Bedford. Dessie was a member of Boyd Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Johnny Demases; 3 brothers, Pete, Nick, and Alex Vardas.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her son, Robert Demases and wife Pam of Boyd; daughter, Marilynn (Demases) Davis of Boyd; 3 grandchildren, Jennifer Carr and husband Glenn, Chance Demases, and Christopher Demases and wife Kylie; 2 great-grandchildren, Cason and Calvin; 2 brothers, George Vardas and wife Linda of McKinney, and Steve Vardas and wife Mary Lee of Sunset; other relatives and a host of friends.
