Graveside service is 10 a.m. Saturday, September 10th at Oaklawn Cemetery with Dr. Shelley Brooks and Reverend Johnny Irish officiating. Family will receive friends 7-8 p.m. Friday at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home.
Pallbearers include Johnny Barnard, Todd Fletcher, Gene Van Baale, Larry Whitaker, Thomas Wilde, and Jeff Hoots.
Dolly was born September 9, 1928 in Davidson, Oklahoma to Lucas Clell and Ione Elizabeth (Ridenour) Watkins. She married John Drew "Sam" Chester on July 15, 1947 in Electra, Texas and was married 40 years at his death on January 11, 1988. Dolly is also preceded in death by her parents and infant child.
Dolly worked as a Dental Assistant and a Medical Office Assistant at Central Supply at Denton Regional Westgate Campus. She retired from Decatur Community Hospital after 15 years of service in 1996 as a Ward Clerk. Dolly was an avid reader and she loved needlework including embroidery, crochet, and quilting. Left behind to cherish her memory are three daughters, Dr. Johnnie Pettigrew and Peggy Cundiff both of Decatur, and Kathryn Sisk of Little Elm; son, Terry Chester of Decatur; four grandchildren, Jan Pettigrew-Wilde and husband Thomas of Hurst, David Len Sisk of Carrollton, Jerimy Sisk and wife Nicole of Cross Roads, and Cheyanne Smith of Lewisville; great-grandchild, Audrey Grace Sisk of Cross Roads, Texas; four sisters, Agnes Moore of Bellevue, Bettie Wylie of Arlington, Lucille Stephens and Louise Lee both of Decatur.
