Funeral service is 11 a.m. Monday, February 7th at the Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Glenn Waldon and Reverend Don Spain officiating. Interment will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Dan Rhine, Glenn Rhine, Donnie Stephens, Walter Pac, Charles Cason and Gene King.
Don was born September 28, 1935 in Foss, Oklahoma to Henley Zay and Vera Maurine (Strealy) Cassity. He married Shirley Jean Atkerson on January 22, 1955 in Gainesville. Don, loved to travel and was a member of the Wise County Antique Car Club, Chisholm Trail Antique Farm Club and Oakgrove Methodist Church. Don was a 1954 graduate of Decatur High School and served as a member of the Texas National Guard.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 56 years, Shirley Cassity; daughters, Debra Lynch and husband Buster of North Richland Hills, Ann Riedl and husband Frank of Tucson, Arizona and Delinda Saunders and husband Steve of Sulphur, Oklahoma; son, Robert Cassity of Alba, Missouri; grandchildren, Todd Lynch, Brad Cooper, Amy Balha and Dusty Cooper; and great grandchildren, Avery Balha and Frankie Sandovall.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a nephew.
