Decatur ~ Don Wesley Stone, 88, went to be with our Lord Tuesday, August 31, 2021.
Funeral is 10:00 a.m. Friday at the First United Methodist Church in Decatur with burial at Oaklawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.
Donny Haywood will officiate. Pallbearers include Calvin Coursey, Perry Mara, Billy Jack Breeze, Landon Stone, Curtis Stone, and Brett Butler.
Don was born May 19, 1933 to Raymond Otis and Beulah Anne (Wiley) Stone in Decatur, Texas. He was united in marriage November 11, 1967 to Glenda Mae Jones in Decatur, Texas. Don owned and operated Decatur Auto Salvage for over 40 years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Decatur. He enjoyed being outdoors and being with his grandchildren. Don was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to many who will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Beulah Stone; his sister, Ella Marie Mann and husband Robert.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 53 years, Glenda Jones Stone of Decatur; his son, Michael Brandon and wife Katy of Decatur; his daughter Kimberly Stone and husband Rick of North Richland Hills; 3 grandchildren, Lizzie Anne, Jack August, and Wiley David; his brother, Wayne Stone and wife Wanda of Decatur; sister, Kathren Sherman and husband Jimmy of Decatur; several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and a host of friends.
