Avondale ~ Donald Durwood Dixson, 79, a retired welder went to be with our Lord Thursday, January 3, 2013 in Decatur.
Memorial service is 5 p.m. Monday, January 7, 2013 at Renewal Fellowship Church, 112 E. Rock Island Ave., Boyd, Texas.
Donald was born on July 7, 1933 to Thomas and Lillian (Davis) Dixson in Fort Worth, Texas. He was united in marriage Ruby Jo Robertson on June 6, 1969 in Fort Worth. Donald was a proud veteran of the United States Navy and served during the Korean War. He was of the Assemblies of God faith.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents; his daughters, Debbie Lancaster and Patsy Ann Dixson; his grandson, Derik Lancaster; his brothers, Jack and Weldon Dixson and his sister, Billie Miller.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 43 years, Ruby Dixson of Avondale; his sons, Donald Dixson of Keller and Leonard Dixson of Fort Worth; his daughters, Gloria Grant of Benbrook and Barbara Dixson of Aurora; his grandchildren and great grandchildren; his brothers, Harry Dixson of Haltom City and Larry Dixson of Keller; other family members and a host of friends.
