Decatur: Donald Ray Flick, 69, a retired aircraft mechanic, went to be with our Lord, Wednesday, July 6, 2011 in Decatur.
Memorial service is 2 p.m. Friday, July 22nd at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home with Dr. Van Gardner officiating. Memorial service was held Saturday, July 16 at Shawnee Mission Memorial Gardens in Shawnee, Kansas.
Donald was born January 10, 1942 in Sand Spring, Oklahoma to Reles and Blanche (Ryan) Flick. He married Shirley Stoneking on February 20, 1987 in Wyandotte, Kansas. Donald served in the United State Army and received diplomas from the United State Army Aviation School.
Donald spent his working career with Trans World Airlines and Boeing Aviation. While at Boeing Aviation his team built the Air Force One for the President at that time.
Left behind to cherish his memory are wife, Shirley Flick of Decatur; two daughters, Sanja Rawson of Bedford and Rebecca Flick of Lewisville; seven grandchildren, Christopher and Alisha Flick, Donna, Stephanie, Cassandra and Brandon Smith and Blaine Schoch; five great grandchildren; brother, Butch Flick; two sisters, Jewell Williams and Betty Ann Little; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Donnette Flick; brother, Reles Flick, Jr. and sister, Frieda Allen.
Family requests memorials be made to a charity of their choice.
