Donald Duane McMaster, 64, of Decatur, entered into the arms of his Savior on Tuesday, March 25, 2025. While his time on this earth has come to an end, his love, faith, and the kindness he so freely gave will live on in the countless lives he touched.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday at Rise Church in Decatur, with visitation beginning one hour prior. He will be laid to rest at Oaklawn Cemetery, surrounded by the family and friends who loved him dearly.
Officiating the service will be Greg Mohr, and those honored to carry Donald to his final resting place include Jacob McMaster, Ty McMaster, Lance McMaster, Matt Lavender, Chris McMaster, Cruz Niblett, Brian Mohr, Monte Caraway, and Brandon Koehne.
Born on September 20, 1960, in Lubbock, Texas, to Kenneth Webb McMaster and Mae Jolene (Harris) McMaster, Donald spent his life devoted to faith, family, and service. On March 24, 1984, he married his soulmate, Sandra Kay Hudson, in Decatur, Texas. For 41 beautiful years, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering faith-one that became an inspiration to all who knew them.
Donald’ heart belonged to Lord, and for over 30 years, he faithfully served as a pastor, offering guidance, comfort, and hope to so many. Later, he turned his dedication to serving others into business, owning and operating M&M Vehicle Inspection and C&M Rental. Whether in ministry, business, or daily life, Donald’s kindness and integrity left a lasting mark on everyone he met.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth McMaster and Jolene Smith, and his sister, Renee McMaster Phillips.
Though his earthly journey has ended, his love lives on in those he leaves behind; his devoted wife, Kay McMaster of Decatur; his sons, Rusty McMaster and wife Krystal, and Colton McMaster all of Decatur; his cherished granddaughter, Kinlee McMaster, who was the light of his life; his brothers, Rick McMaster and wife Theresa, Mickey McMaster and wife Susan, and Steve McMaster and wife Brenda, all of Decatur; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and dear friends who were blessed to know him.
Donald had a heart for giving, always putting others before himself. To honor his legacy of generosity, the family ask that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the McMaster Annual Charity Golf Tournament, a cause close to his heart. Contributions can be mailed to P.O. Box 237, Decatur, Texas 76234.
Donald’s life was a testament to faith, love, and selflessness. He lived with purpose, loved without condition, and left this world better than he found it. His memory will forever be cherished, and his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who had privilege of knowing him.
“Well done, good and faithful servant…Enter into the joy of your Lord”.
