Paradise ~ Donald Wayne Norris Sr., 82, a retired Ag teacher at Paradise High School, went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 22, 2016 in Dallas.
Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Paradise with burial in Paradise Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport.
Rev. David Kelly will officiate. Pallbearers include Kevin Norris, Lee Taylor, Jimmy McKiel, Samuel Wooldridge, Rob Crawford, and Joe Gilliland.
Donald was born October 5, 1933 to William and Maxine (Starr) Norris in Smith County, Texas. He was united in marriage to Helmi Loehr on March 10, 1956 in Bad Kreuznach, Germany. Donald was a member of the First Baptist Church in Paradise where he served as a deacon. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Donald was a member of the Agriculture Teachers Association.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Vanessa Norris; and his brother, Jerry Norris.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 59 years, Helmi Norris of Paradise; his daughter, Debra Wooldridge Logan of Bridgeport; his son, Donald "Bo" Norris Jr. of Paradise; his sister, Melba Allen of Carroll, Texas; his grandchildren, Kyle Wooldridge and wife Jennifer, Kristopher Wooldridge, Amber Nicole McKiel and husband Jimmy, Kayla Michea Taylor and husband Lee; his great grandchildren, Brooklyn, Kyndal, Jaciee, Adalyn, and soon to be number 5, any day, Caylee; numerous extended family and a host of friends.
