Bridgeport ~ Donald "Slapout" Town, 79, a truck driver went to be with our Lord Saturday, November 26, 2011 in Bridgeport.
Funeral is 2 p.m. Monday, November 28, 2011 at Pleasant View Baptist Church with burial in East Bridgeport Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport.
Rev. Gary Dimmitt will officiate. Pallbearers are Ed King, Wayne King, Shannon Blake, Mark Hendricks, Bobby Starnes, and Mike Pike. Honorary pallbearers are Ryan Stamey and Larry Clemmons.
Donald was born on January 17, 1932 to Perry and Edna (Bigelow) Town in Shattuck, Oklahoma. He was united in marriage to Margaret Heinsohn on April 9, 1960 in Arnett, Oklahoma. Donald worked for Rumco Trucking for 54 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Dale Town.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 51 years, Margaret Town of Bridgeport; his son, Danny Town of Bridgeport; his daughters, Debbie King and husband Skip Fisher of Bridgeport and Jolene Skaggs of Amarillo; 8 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; his sister, Dorothy Pike of Piedmont, Oklahoma; other family members and a host of friends.
