Boonsville ~ Donald Lynn Zaidle, 55, an outdoor writer and magazine editor, went to be with our Lord Saturday, October 12, 2013 in Boonsville.
Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 20, 2013 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Boonsville Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Bro. John Anderson will officiate. Pallbearers include Richard Goodwin, Jimmy Goodwin, Greg Goodwin, Robert Gillock, Russell Gillock, and Wacy Beck.
Donald was born on January 31, 1958 to Edward and Mary (Erwin) Zaidle in Fort Worth, Texas. He was united in marriage to Barbara Russell on January 19, 1979 in Parker County. Donald was a dedicated volunteer firefighter and a jack of many trades including magazine editing and outdoor writing.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers, Edward Dale Zaidle and Darrell Zaidle.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Barbara Zaidle of Boonsville; his daughter, Doyla Fisher and husband Tom of Hope, Arkansas; his sons, Lonny Goodwin and wife Tammy of Saratoga, Arkansas, Richard Goodwin and wife Christine of The Colony; his daughters, Dana Gillock of Rhome, Lynn Massey of Weatherford, Dr. Crystal Barrett and husband Rob of Grand Rapids, Michigan; his sister, Donna Chesney and husband Lonnie of Reno; numerous grandchildren; great grandchildren; other family members and a host of friends.
