Chico ~ Donnie Eugene “Donnie” Grooms, 57, an equipment operator, went to be with our Lord Wednesday, May 17, 2017 in Chico.
Funeral is 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 19, 2017 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Bridgeport with burial in Norwood Crafton Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Jeff Bakker will officiate. Pallbearers include Travis Cox, Monty Forbus, Bill McCasland, Willy Jack Vincent, Gene Moody, and Mike McCasland. Honorary pallbearers are Lynn Gordon, David Goode, James Moody, Ernie Cox, Levi Forbus, and Ed Cowley.
Donnie was born on December 22, 1959 to Eugene and Willene (Pirtle) Grooms in Bridgeport. He was a member of the Crafton Baptist Church.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his son, Dace Colton Grooms of Chico; his parents, Eugene and Willene Grooms of Chico; his sister, Vicki Rene Grooms and husband Lynn Gordon of Chico; his niece, Calli Gordon of Chico; special friends, the Sturch family; other family members and a host of friends.
