Alvord: Donna Marie Barclay, 80, went to be with our Lord on Monday, October 19, 2009 in Bowie, Texas.
Funeral service is 10 a.m. Thursday, October 22nd at First Baptist Church of Alvord, with Reverend Bill Cleveland officiating. Interment will follow service at Alvord Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Donna was born on November 13, 1928 in Waynesville County, Missouri to Charles Edward and Gertrude Cora Elizabeth (Cole) Parson. After her mother's death in 1936, Donna was raised by Will and Etta McMath. She was owner of Donna's Beauty Shop in Alvord.
Left behind to cherish her memory are two sons, Alan Troy Barclay of Alvord, Dale Alton Barclay of Grapevine; daughter, Cheryl Elizabeth Franks of Grapevine; five grandchildren, Waylon Barclay, Cory and Culley Franks, Brandii Barclay, Samatha Barclay; four great grandchildren, Cassandra and Shelby Barclay, Clayton and Cooper Franks; sister, Vesta Fern Parson of Alvord; half sister, Lois Ann Bell; half-brother, Richard Lee Parson; and special friend, Bill Spain of Alvord.
