Donnie E. Green

Graveside service is 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at Thomas Cemetery in Bridgeport. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport.

Rev. David Rucker will officiate.

Donnie was born on April 5, 1932 to James and Hattie (Mack) Green in Colbert, Oklahoma. He was united in marriage to Doris Stokes on August 6, 1953 in Bridgeport. Donnie retired from TXI as a night supervisor. He enjoyed pecan picking, golf ball hunting, fishing, hunting, and golfing.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Gladys Mae Hudson; his brothers, June, Homer, Al, and Charles Green.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 58 years, Doris Stokes Green of Bridgeport; his sons, Tim Green and wife Jana, Jeff Green and wife Stella, and Tony Green, all of Bridgeport; his grandchildren, Kristi, Kacie, Sara, and Emily; his great grandchildren, Mackenzie, Bryson, and Raidon; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

Dear Doris,

We are so sorry to have Donnie missing from our lives, but know he is walking the streets of gold in Heaven with loved ones who have already made the journey to the other side.
I am so sorry we are unable to attend the services as Keith does not handle funerals very well at all and I try not to upset him. Alzheimer's is not easy. Please know you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers as Donnie will always be in our fond memories.
