Doris Gene Bost

Funeral is 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 28th at the Boyd Church of Christ with burial in Aurora Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. at Christian-Hawkins Funeral Home in Boyd.

Bro. Dave Clark will officiate. Pallbearers are Gene Dillashaw, Don McKinnon, Clinton Sanderson, Ronnie Smith, Rick Hamilton, David Ford and Terry Ford.

Gene was born on September 3, 1927 to S.R and Maudie (Evans) Crumpton in Rhome, Texas. She attended Rhome High School then her senior year at Boyd High School. After graduation from high school, she entered and graduated from Harris School of Nursing and received her R.N. degree in September of 1947. She was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, Harold Richard Bost after he returned from the U.S. Navy on January 1, 1947. They were happily married for 54 years upon his death in 2001. They lived in Fort Worth until 1994 then returned to Boyd and lived on their family's land. Gene was an active member of the Boyd Church of Christ; she enjoyed gardening, canning and reading.

Gene was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her brothers, Lloyd, Bo and Charles Crumpton.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her son, Richard Bost and wife Linda of Boyd; her daughter, Leeann Brinsfield and husband Brooken of Bristol, Ohio; her grandchildren, Blake, Chad, Shawn, Samantha, Steven, Jay, Mindy and Jessica; 9 great grandchildren; her sister, Charlene Morgan of Fort Worth, other family members and a host of friends.
