Doris Elizabeth Mazzei

Funeral: 2p.m. Tuesday, May 18, at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Chapel with burial in Moran Cemetery, Moran, Texas. Family visitation will be from 5 - 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Doris was born August 9, 1922 in Moran, TX to Elmer and Gera Hudman, the fifth of six children. She graduated from Moran High School in 1939 and received an associate degree from Tarleton College in 1941. While working for U.S.O. at the Army base in Abilene she met her future husband, Joseph Vincent Mazzei. Upon his return from WWII in Europe they were married in Moran on October 13, 1946 and shared 52 years of love and life together. They settled in a Fort Worth, TX and raised a family of 3 boys, Gary, Steve, and Brian. She was a homemaker and later worked at furniture stores in Fort Worth. She moved to Wise County in 2001 to be closer to family.

She was a devoted mother, faithful wife and most of all a good and loving person. She will be missed by all those touched by her kindness and love.

Survivors: Sons, Steve Mazzei and wife Karen, Brian (Moe) Mazzei; brother, Donald Hudman and wife Virginia; daughter-in-law, Linda Mazzei; and grandchildren, Erin, Shannon, Peter, and Emily Mazzei.
