Doris Wanda (Mann) Thompson

Haltom City ~ Doris Wanda Thompson, 90, formerly of Bridgeport went to be with our Lord on Friday, January 8, 2021 in Ft. Worth, one day short of her 91st birthday.
Funeral Service will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 15, 2021 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Bridgeport. Family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Rev. Fred Raney will officiate.
Doris was born on January 9, 1930 to J.H. and Lillie Maude (Reed) Mann in Wise County, Texas. She had 5 brothers, and one sister, W.J. Mann, Gerald C. Mann, Woodrow Mann, Neal Mann, Truett Mann, and Nora St. Clair. Doris graduated from Bridgeport High School where she met her future husband and many life long friends. Doris was united in marriage to Harvey Leon Thompson on June 30, 1946 in Bridgeport, they were together 69 years until his passing in 2016. Doris was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker who always put the needs of her husband and children first no matter what came along. She helped her husband through night school at Weatherford College all while maintaining the household and raising the children. Doris then traveled the country supporting her husband as his jobs took him to different towns in Texas. She was a member of Parkdale Baptist Church in Corpus Christi, Texas. Doris was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend and will be missed by all that knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Harvey Thompson; her six siblings, W.J. Mann, Gerald C. Mann, Woodrow Mann, Neal Mann Truett Mann, and Nora St. Clair.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughters, Sandra Hensley of Hurst and Jill Thompson Tipton and husband Ross of Corpus Christi, her grandaughter, Gina Scott and husband Danny; great-grandson, Jack Scott; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and a host of friends.
