Dorothy Jean (Borden) Chrisawn

Rhome - Dorothy Jean Chrisawn, 85, went to be with our lord Thursday, November 16, 2023, in Decatur, Texas.

Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Saturday November 25, 2023 at Hawkins Funeral Home in Boyd with burial at a later date at DFW National Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service at the funeral home.

Officiant is Jimmy Withers.

Dorothy was born January 29, 1938 to Woodrow Wilson and Florence Pearl (Hope) Borden in Cleburne, Texas. She graduated from Cleburne High School. She was a pastor’s wife for over 60 years and a bookkeeper for various organizations. Dorothy was a longtime member of the Rose Park Baptist Church in Shreveport, Louisiana. She was very devoted to both her family and church families as well as her cats. Dorothy was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many who will miss her dearly.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband of 63 years at the time of his passing in 2021, Flasher Chrisawn;

Those left to cherish her beautiful memory are her son, Jonathan Chrisawn and wife Sabra; her daughter, Dianne Free and husband Ray; grandchildren, Rebecca and Nathan Free, Asher Chrisawn, Dillon Lewis and Careb Simmons; her brothers, Eddie and Wilson Borden both of Cleburne; numerous extended family members and a host of friends.
