Dorothy Ruth (Finlayson) Estill
Date Died: February 28, 2013

We celebrate the long life of Dorothy Estill, born July 31, 1921, in Decatur, Texas, to Ones Thomas and Nancy Ruth Scott Finlayson. She attended school in Rhome, where she graduated as high school salutatorian. She enjoyed her years at TCU where she was a class favorite three years before marrying the love of her life, John Staples Estill, Jr. They shared 67 blessed years together rearing their three children in a Christian home where striving to do one's best with a smile was taught and exemplified. Dorothy and John loved spending time with and entertaining their family and friends, playing bridge, dancing and traveling the globe.

Dorothy lived a life of service providing countless refreshments and serving as Room Mom for her children's schools, actively supporting the PTA, leading Girl Scouts, teaching numerous Sunday School classes, presiding for PEO chapters in Kansas and in Oklahoma, delivering Meals on Wheels, visiting shut-in friends and much, much more.

She will always be remembered for her loyal friendship, her quick wit and her ready and genuine smile. She loved life. She loved her family. She loved playing bridge. She loved chocolate. Dorothy will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 2, 2013, at 11 a.m., Longhorn Room, Trinity Terrace. A family graveside service will follow at 2 p.m., Aurora Cemetery.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her brother, John Will Finlayson; her husband; and her parents.
