Boyd ~ Dorothy Eulene Bridges, 84, a retired banker, went to be with our Lord Sunday, June 3, 2017 in Decatur, Texas.
Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at Cottondale Baptist Church in Cottondale, Texas with burial at Cottondale Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Bridgeport.
Rev. Charles Pugh will officiate. Pallbearers include Jerry Taylor, Ronald Tinder, Jimmy Cox, Harold Remmelle, Deon Carpenter, Gene Remmelle. Honorary pallbearers are Sammy Erwin, Don Gentry, Merlin Remmelle and Bill Read.
Dorothy was born on July 4, 1932 to Clarence and Lillie (Stokes) Tabner in Duke, Oklahoma. She was united in marriage to Melvin Bridges on October 4, 1949 in Decatur.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Rhonda Ellis and husband Richard of Port Aransas and Karen Jackson of Bellevue; four grandchildren Jeff Bennett and wife Monica, Chad Bennet and wife Chasity, Miranda Braden and husband Tacoma, John Jackson and wife Kelly; ten great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and one due any day; and one sister Nadine Mara of Decatur.
