Dorothy Mae Gray

Newark ~ Dorothy Mae Lambert Gray, 87, went to be with our Lord Friday, April 14, 2023 in Newark.

Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Boyd with burial in Boyd Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Jim Lambert will officiate. Pallbearers are Jaret Holmes, Gauge Guerra, Andrew Jackson, Mika Lambert, Gary Gailbreath and Michael Lindsey. Honorary pallbearers are Blake Stockard, Russell Moncrief, Danny Lambert and  Jim Lambert.

Dorothy was born on October 16, 1935 to John Henry Thomas and Ida Roosevelt (Smith) Lambert in Decatur. She was united in marriage to Billy Ray Gray on January 24, 1974 in Weatherford. Dorothy was a purchasing agent for Nu Way Mobile Homes for 17 years. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and a friend to many who will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Billy Ray Gray; her sons, Randy and Ricky Thornton; her grandson, Daniel; and her brothers, William, John, Gilbert, T.H., and Paul Lambert.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter, Gaye Lynn Stockard of Newark; her granddaughter, Janet Lynn Holmes of Newark; her grandsons, Jaret Holmes and spouse Sarah  of Newark, Boyd Carroll Stockard of Newark, Michael Lindsay of College Station, Angel, Brittany, Chris, John, and Michael; her great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Adriane, Gauge, Michael, Jr., Lucas, Skylar, Tori, Hudson, Mackynzi, Kamrin, Tristen, Hayden, and Elaine, several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
