Haslet ~ Dorothy Mozelle Harris, 87, passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2017 in North Richland Hills.
Graveside service is 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Boyd Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at Hawkins Funeral Home Boyd.
Pastor J.D. Allen will officiate.
Honorary pallbearers are Jerry Motley, Mike Livingston, and Britt Motley.
Dorothy was born on February 5, 1930 in Crafton, Texas to Exsa (Gordon) and Vestal Motley. She was united in marriage Wendell Preston Harris on December 9, 1949 in Boyd.
Dorothy had a zest for life and enjoyed traveling, and also enjoyed spending time with her great nieces and nephews. She worked for Boyd ISD as a bookkeeper from 1969/1970 until 1991 in a full-time and part-time capacity. Dorothy was a one-term city council member for the City of Boyd. She was a long standing member of the First United Methodist Church in Boyd.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband; two brothers, Ervie and Gene Motley; her sister-in-law, Stella Motley; and her parents.
She is survived by her son, Greg Harris and wife Sarah; her nephews, Jerry Motley and Britt Motley and wife Mary; her nieces, Sharon Eaves and husband Virgil, Carolyn Smith, and Linda Livingston and husband Michael; her sister-in-law, Barbara Motley; and many, many friends.
