Dorothy Ernestine (Barnard) Martin

Decatur ~ Dorothy Ernestine Martin, 90, went to be with our Lord Sunday, April 4, 2021.

Funeral Service is 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 9, 2021 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Decatur with burial at Pleasant Grove #1 Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Dorothy was born July 30, 1930 to W.B. and Lillian (George) Barnard in Angleton, Texas. She was united in marriage July 26, 1952 to Ralph E. Martin in Weatherford, Texas. Dorothy was a beloved mother, grandmother, great- grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, W.B. and Lillian Barnard; her husband of 34 years, Ralph E. Martin; her 2 brothers, Kenneth and Cecil Barnard.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter, Brenda Burns and husband John of Decatur; her 2 sons, Randy Martin and wife Jeanann of Ft. Worth, and Mike Martin and wife Kiona of Decatur; 8 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Billie Lambert; her brother, John Barnard; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
