Dorothy Louise (Gallaway) Smith

Fort Worth ~ Dorothy Louise Smith, 81, formerly of Boyd went home to be with her Lord June 16, 2022 in Weatherford.

Funeral is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Boyd with burial following at Boyd Cemetery.

Pastor David Bennett will officiate.  Pallbearers will include Brad Gallaway, David Gallaway, Johnny Saldivar, Eli Saldivar, and Isaac Saldivar.

Dorothy was born December 17, 1940 to Hardy G. and Lucille (Reed) Gallaway in Boyd. She was united in marriage in Fort Worth to Billy Gillford Smith on March 3, 1967 and they remained together until his passing November 26, 2005. Dorothy spent many years doing clerical work. She loved her husband dearly and those 37 years were the best of her life. Dorothy enjoyed doing yard work, crafting, painting, telling and writing the many stories of her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 37 years, Billy G. Smith; and three brothers, Jimmy, Marvin, and J.W. Gallaway.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; and two dear friends, Linda Corker and Kay Claussen.
