Decatur ~ Edd Hardee, 97 went to be with our Lord Thursday, October 20, 2016 in Decatur.
Graveside is 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 24, 2016 at Pleasant Grove #1 Cemetery. Family will receive friends 3-5 p.m. Sunday at the Hawkins Funeral Home Decatur.
Kenny Kates will officiate. Pallbearers include Jeff Meador, Ricky Meador, Tony Meador, Wes Hardee, Billy Hardee, Jessie Hardee and Tim Hardee.
Edd was born on June 19, 1919 to Sam and Maudie (Covington) Hardee in Newark, Texas. He was united in marriage to Odessa Taylor on September 6, 1941 in Boyd, Texas. Edd was a veteran and served in the Philippines during War World II. After serving his country, he became a carpenter and retired at 75. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his sister, his brother; his grandson Randy Meador; his great grandson Riley Hardee.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his sons, Johnny Hardee of Decatur, Weldon Hardee and wife Sheila of Sunset, Milton Hardee Sr. of Decatur, Milton Hardee Jr. of Wichita Falls; his daughter, Evelyn Darlene Meador of Decatur; his 13 grandchildren; his 34 great grandchildren, his 7 great great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
