BRIDGEPORT -- Edgar Louis Schilo, Jr., 60, a retired police officer for Bridgeport and Wise County, went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, Mar. 9, 2010, in Decatur.
Memorial Service: 10 a.m. Friday at Hawkins Funeral Chapel. Rev. Craig Rolen will officiate.
Edgar was born on May 31, 1949, the son of Edgar Louis, Sr. and Dorothy Jean (Birdwell) Schilo in San Antonio. He graduated from the San Antonio Academy and the Marine Military Academy in Harlingen, Texas. He also attended the Georgia Military College. Edgar served his country in the U.S. Marine Corp during the Vietnam War, receiving two purple hearts.
Edgar was preceded in death by his wife, Johnnie Faye Schilo on December 25, 2008. He was also preceded by his parents, Edgar, Sr. and Dorothy Schilo, and a sister, Judy Schilo Siebert.
Those left behind to cherish his memory: daughter, Christine Schilo of Bridgeport; two grandchildren, Cheyenne and Leah Davidson; sisters, Joan Schilo Huntress of San Antonio and Janice Schilo Moore of San Antonio; five nieces and nephews: Tommy, Christopher, Michael, Carrie, and MiMi; and her dear friends, Beth Kinsey and husband David, and their children, Ashley and Buddy.
